Club News – April 2018
England Hockey are running a Coach Development week in May with a wide range of programmes being delivered across the region, from Introduction to Coaching, Coaching for Club Players and much more.
These courses will enable our club to access development opportunities, whether you are looking for a new start in coaching or wanting to develop more.
Some of these courses are ideal for parents, helpers, volunteers, young leaders and any of our players. Courses are first come first served so book soon to avoid missing out.
If you would like to book on a course, please speak to Chris Williams or Viv Lake and we can get you booked on the course asap and help choosewhich is best for you.
Back 2 Hockey
Last season we ran Back 2 Hockey sessions where members of public were invited along to have a go at hockey. This was a great success with a number of players joining the club and playing in league games.
We will be running these sessions again at Woodhey High School on Tuesday Evenings starting from the 1st May.
If you would like to showcase your skills and help out by running some sessions for new players, please let a member of the committee know. It would be great to see a good number of current members getting involved.
Pleaes help by advertising this to friends or family and posting on social media to get more people involved!
You may think the season has only just ended but we are already planning for next year! In addition to the back to hockey sessions, the pitch at Woodhey on a Tuesday’s will also be being used for members of the club to stay fit and stay involved in hockey over the summer.
Senior players, juniors, parents and friends are all invited to these sessions which will be a mixture of small games and training sessions along with some fitness work towards the start of the season. This is a great way to keep playing over the summer and also have some fun along the way.
This is your club…
As an inclusive club, we always value the thoughts and feelings of all our members. If you have any ideas or skills that you think could help the club, or if you would like to get involved in coaching or helping out with either senior or junior teams please let a member of the club committee know.
Enjoy the summer!
